Transport Chairs Launched at JFK Airport

Customers traveling through Terminal 4 (T4) at John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, will now have access to non-metallic, lightweight transport chairs, specifically designed to enhance the journey for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM).

We are thrilled to collaborate with PAX Assist and Jetweels to introduce comfortable and nimble transport chairs, so passengers can enjoy an easy and stress-free travel experience.

Launched by PAX Assist – the company that provides passenger assistance at T4 – Jetweels transport chairs are made of strong polycarbonate carbon-fiber material which enables them to pass through metal detectors without triggering alarm systems. The chair’s lightweight design makes them easy to maneuver, store and stack. Other features include a baggage tray to store belongings, a footrest and a seatbelt for added safety.

Esma Dahbali, CEO of Pax Assist and Jetweels, said, “Jetweels is the result of many days and hours of considering and analyzing what passengers really need in a transport chair in order for them to travel through the airport and particularly security in a seamless, non-stressful and absolute safe way. With its combination of technology and security, Jetweels is the transport chair of the future.”

Roel Huinink, president and CEO of JFKIAT, the company that operates T4, said, “We are committed to bringing new offerings to enhance the travel experience and increase accessibility for our more than 21 million annual passengers at T4.
